|
It is not often that a Nepali movie is made with the International audience in mind, still Kathmandu happens to be one of such movies. The movie has been directed by film producer, actor and director, Akash Adhikari, and is going to be premiered at Europe and USA apart from Nepal. Likewise, the movie’s music album was released in an event organized by Sky Movies at Kumari Cinema Hall, Kathmandu on Wednesday. Senior filmmakers, Yubraj Lama, Yadav Kharel and Ramesh Budathoki, Chairman of Producer’s Association, Raj Kumar Rai, along with other distinguished guests launched the audio album, jointly. A novelty about the album is that it has established playback singers from the Hindi movie industry singing most of the songs of the album. Singers like Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kailash Kher, Akriti Kakkad, Aditya Narayan and Sanjivni have given their voice to six songs in total. Rahul Pradhan has performed the music composition for the album, while Akash himself has written the lyrics. Some of the songs of the album are “Kathmandu,” “Crazy Girl” and “Jindagi yo rangeen mausam ho.” The movie, itself is about the young urban generation of Kathmandu, and their obsessions and frustrations. It also happens to be about the current social set up and the degeneration of the Nepali family structure. The movie, produced by Akash and Ben Adhikari, has actors, Akash Adhikari, Resh Marhattha, Riya Murphy, Gauri Malla, Arjun Shrestha, Mamata Pradhan and Sunil Dutta Pandey playing the major roles. The movie, as well as the songs of the movie seem promising and are sure to attract the International audience. |
